Julep was my very first subscription. I've been with them a year and a half. Even though I had the option to skip months, very seldom did that happen. Often I would upgrade my box and took part in various sales. Sense I've joined it has been a great experience, and I do recommend them to new polish lovers. With this being said, I am canceling my subscription. This was a hard decision. There were a lot of factors at play, so it was not took lightly. Here are my reasons.
1. My plethera of nail polish is a bit overwhelming. I have close to 200 polishes, even though I change my nails often, I still have about 30-40 in wrappers.
2. Julep has opened my eyes to luxury nail polish. With the different nail polish groups I've been in, I've branched out to other brands. Even though I like Julep, I have found several brands I like more.
3. The volume of their polishes are a bit too small for the price. Again, they do have great polishes. However, brands like Zoya, OPI, or China Glaze are half the price and you get twice the polish.
4. Not only are their nail polishes small, but their product size for their beauty and body items are too small and pricey. For a company who is experimenting with beauty and body items, they are expecting for us to pay too much. They often have issues with their beauty items. They blame it on manufacturing, but I really think it's because they are still new to the cosmetics line. I don't want to pay for a product which may only have a few uses, for an insane price.
5. Lately their colors don't excite me. I have so many colors which are so close to each other. Ever sense they branched to make up, I feel their colors haven't been as unique.
6. There are so many subscription companies out there. I would like to use that $20+ a month towards another box.
I started before they had all the make up and beauty items. Nail polish is what I had signed up for. Sense they started makeup I've been disappointed with the colors and haven't liked many make up products. Plus, with Glam Bag and the other makeup subscriptions, I get way more for my money. So there are my main reasons for canceling. I do recommend them for beginner nail polish lovers, or those who would like to try them. I feel like I have experienced them enough.
