Top Ten Beauty and Make Up Items for May
I always watch videos and read blogs about people's top ten items. Well I decided to do the same. I will try to do this each month. This month all the items I brought with me on my trip to the Bahamas. They were all compact and took up minimal space in my luggage, which was key. They also worked well together, and took minimal application.
1. Neutrogena Beach Defense: $8.00
This sunscreen is my favorite. It isn't greasy, and absorbs fast. It is good for the water, but be sure to wait twenty minutes before you go in. It has a nice light smell. I got SPF 30, which was very effective. I was able to get a bit of a glow tan, but didn't get burnt. We were in the water a lot, and was good about reapplying it every two hours or so. Best sunscreen. (Even says it is dermatologist recommended)
2. Simple for sensitive skin: Oil Balancing Cleansing Wipes: $5.49
These are the only things I use to clean my face. I do have very sensitive skin, and love simple. I've tried a couple different products from them, and these work best for me. They were great for traveling, it's quick and easy. They come moistened, so you don't even have to rinse. My husband and I also used them as shower wipes. When we were traveling, we only had about five hours in our hotel before we had to go on our ferry. These worked great to just wipe off all the sweat from the day, and made us feel so much better.
3. Marc Jacobs: Dot Perfume $52.00
This is my signature scent. It is pricey, but I love it. I've had this bottle for a year and a half. I get so many compliments on it. However, I hate spending so much on it, and I think the item below is so much better.
4. Coconut-Key Lime Oil: $10.00
In the picture it is the middle yellow vile. We went to this little boutique while we were away. They made the oils right there, and they all smelled so good. They said oils are better than perfume. They are 100% natural, and absorb into the skin so you smell it all day. For only $10 this was well worth it. I've been wearing it every day sense I bought it. I want to find other oils. They weren't lying, it really lasts all day. I just do a swipe with the roller ball on each wrist, and that's it. Wish I could give you a brand, but all I'll say is to purchase oils not perfume.
5 & 6. Avon Eye Brightening Pencils: $7.00 Each
These are amazing. They are a cream. I've had these over a year, and they get used often. I wear them together and separatly. You don't need a brush, just a couple swipes and the color lasts all day, with out creasing. Love, love, love these.
7. Maybelline Baby Lips: Peaches $4.99
This little baby is amazing. It has SPF 20, which was great for my trip. The light tint makes it great for a bare day. Smooth lips, and super affordable. They come in a variety of colors, but this went best with my tan.
8. Almay Lip Gloss: Cantaloupe $5.99
So far, Almay has the best lip gloss, for me. They are affordable, have great coverage, and aren't tacky. I put this over the Baby Lips and they worked really well together.
9. NYX Bronze Smokey Eye Kit: $12
I received this as my free gift through Glam Bag. It is a pallet of neutrals. This is so small it could fit in my pocket. All the colors work well together. I tend to use the top right, and bottom middle/left, the most. I did use a brush for them, and they have great color.
10. Julep: Maddy $14.00
I am a nail polish junky, so doing a top ten with out a nail polish, would be crazy. This bright pink has so much color it just makes me smile. grin This is from their May collection, in love! I took a picture of them, while scuba diving, I hope it comes out okay.
